Social entrepreneurship was discussed in Haskovo under the SOCIAL FORCES project

On September 16 and 17, in Haskovo were held a workshop and an Info day under Project: "Rein FORCE SOCIAL entrepreneurial spirit through setting up innovative support structures in the cross-border territory" (SOCIAL FORCES), No 2023. Good practices were presented at both events in Social Entrepreneurship - problems, challenges and prospects.

The SOCIAL FORCES project has been implemented since October 2017 by the following partners: Rhodopi Development Agency (Greece), Haskovo Municipality, Reconstruction and Development Union - Haskovo, Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Drama CCI, the Xanthi CCI and GNOSI ANAPTICS. Representatives of the partner organizations presented the implementation of the project activities and the results achieved. At the first event Miroslava Mileva, manager of the Social Tea Room, Varna presented the social enterprise, the story of the creation and the challenges that the team faced. Representatives from the University of Plovdiv presented the Roadmap “Your Steps towards Social Entrepreneurship” prepared under the project. Social entrepreneurs from Haskovo region also presented the development of their business, as well as the products and services they offer. One of the conclusions made by the participants in the events is that, unlike neighboring Greece, social entrepreneurship in Bulgaria is developed to a lesser extent and the main reason for this is the weak support of the state with the regulatory legal and financial mechanisms. Coming in October, this year Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize a round table in the town of Haskovo on the same project.

The project “ReinFORCE SOCIAL Entrepreneurial Spirit through setting up Innovative Support Structures in the cross-border Territory” is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the national funds of the countries participating in the Cooperation Program Greece- Bulgaria 2014-2020 INTERREG VA
