IPA Cross-Border Programme, CCI No: 2007CB16IPO008

On 13th March 2013, starting from 10:30 h, the First Work Meeting, as described in Activity 2of Project: Joint Eco Forces of Small and Medium Enterprises of Cross-Border Region (JEFSMER), Referring: Application ref.: 2007CB16IPO008-2011-2-063, Subsidy contract Outgoing No: RD-02-29-345/ 13.12.2012, under the second call of Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross-border Programme, took place in Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The project started on 14.12.2012 and is being implemented in partnership by Lead Partner – Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Project Partner – Uzunkopru Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turkey. The project will be implemented within 12 months.
During the first work meeting, an Action Plan and Communication Plan were accepted and all the steps and deadlines for carrying out the activities were discussed.

The specific project objective is to stimulate economic operators within the cross-border region to implement measures for efficient use of shared natural resources and through conservation of natural heritage values to contribute for improve the quality of life. The project plans creating a partners’ web site showing the shared resources for attracting economic operators from both cross-border regions (District Haskovo and Province Edirne) to participate in joint project activities; creating a unified on-line data base linked to the environment responsibility of SME; developing innovative on-line tool for environmental self-assessment for SMEs applicable in both countries (Bulgaria and Turkey) and carrying out demonstration Eco-mapping; conducting a joint campaign to raise the awareness of SMEs form the target region about measures for effective use of natural resources and motivating them to use and, at the same time, protect the precious environment and to improve the quality of life.

The work meeting was attended by Mr. Yancho Yanev – the President of Haskovo Chamber ofCommerce and Industry and Mr. Ibrahim Akalin – the President of Uzunkopru Chamber ofCommerce and Industry, as well as the project team members.
